Good Morning

I was back in China last week for further testing of our E300 fully electric truck. It is now fitted with a very smart alloy cargo body. XCMG have also swapped to a longer life battery option for these trucks. The tare of the 8280kg GVM box body is now a remarkable 3900kg.

This is a short video of the truck climbing a 20 degree gradient on the test track. To give you an idea Baldwin St in Dunedin is 19 degrees. The engine noise at the end is other heavy trucks using the same facility.

I was asked to participate in “key” ceremony with some other distributors taking delivery of the first exported “series 5” graders at the factory. We have sold one GR2405 to a gold mining operation in Mongolia, another is coming to New Zealand and available for sale. We will have it on display at the Fieldays this year at Mystery Creek.

Seen at the truck factory this off highway 35,000l water cart complete with a water cannon. There are two of these heading for a mining project in Australia.

The Australian company has also purchased 10 of these 50 tonne wheel loaders. These have the latest Lincoln auto greasing and factory fitted fire suppression systems.

A couple more rough terrain forklifts on their way, these two heading to Northland. If equipped with the wide view duplex mast and side shift these are available at $31,000 + GST

Delivery day of Rodney Lime’s new LW300K. This one has a longer boom for more dumping clearance and will operate at their Wellsford base.

A couple more wind rated Mini “Plus” scissors on their way to Presidential Homes. They now have a fleet of six small Mantall scissors, in use to build houses at their Palmerston North facility.

Another delivery trip to Fiji, this time a 4 tonne combi roller and another LW300K loader. Both will be used by Fulton Hogan-Hiways.

Another delivery day for OTT Contractors in Apia, this time an  XS123 12 tonne roller. It will be used for general roading and other projects around Samoa.

The QY25K5-I is the latest version of XCMG’s top selling 25 tonne crane. XCMG dominates the crane market in China with something like 70% market share.

Quite a sophisticated control panel for the small crane.

Even with XCMG’s high volume production they can’t keep up with demand. At present four year old cranes are selling at a premium over new prices as the buyers just can’t wait. That can lead to tense scenes at the factory over who’s new crane order comes first.

From this months “why would you do that” file, some sort of small pusher bar on these LW500KV’s in China.

Another bulk delivery from XCMG, this time part of a 300 unit order lined up for delivery in Brazil to the military. XCMG continues to be the No 1 exporter of construction equipment from China. They now export more the No 2 and 3 (Sany and Zoomlion) combined.
