XCMG’s fully autonomous container handler is now in testing at the port of Tianjin. This one is an LNG/EV hybrid but they are available as pure EV.
XCMG have released their first agri telehandler with a 120hp Deutz engine and a 40kph Danfoss hydrostatic transmission. The 3 tonne/ 7 metre lift machine is priced at $98,000 + GST ex Auckland.
XCMG’s electric forklifts are powered by lithium ion batteries. The run time is eight to ten hours continuous on a two hour charge. This is the smallest unit at 1.5 tonne lift, the range goes through to 3.5 tonne.

XCMG had a “new energy” exhibition at the truck factory recently.
First look at XCMG’s hydrogen powered truck which has a 400km duration using a low pressure hydrogen system. Peak power is 480hp, peak torque 2000Nm and rated GVM, 49,000kg.
The “battery swap” system was debuted at the factory. A 6×4 fully electric semi approaching the swap station with a refrigerated trailer.
The fully robotic battery swapping system takes only 5 minutes. This is a big improvement on even the best fast chargers.

XCMG’s first fully electric ute available in LHD only at this stage. Duration on a charge is 400km and the motor develops peak torque of 800Nm. For comparison NZ’s top selling Ford Ranger 3.2l diesel develops 470Nm.
