Many of you know we also run an access hire company, Skyrise Hire. We were recently asked to help the Coastguard add a new Nowcasting repeater to the Tamaki Yacht Club building. Doing our small part to help those who enjoy time on the Hauraki Gulf as much as we do.
Battery swapping is now underway everyday in Penrose for various customers.
Some comments from Tony, the driver of the Phoenix Metalman semi:
“ The Etruck is awesome to drive, very smooth and quiet. The battery swap process takes only 5 minutes once the truck is in position. Plenty of low down pulling power and is comfortable at 90km on the motorway. The driving technique varies to the traditional combustion models; gentle on the throttle seems to work better along with looking well ahead to anticipate off throttle & braking to activate the regeneration system back into the battery thus more life/kilometers covered ”
The first two fully electric 19t XC968EV wheel loaders for New Zealand are now off line and into the testing phase.

Fonterra have launched their E700 Milk-E, New Zealand’s first electric milk tanker. At 46t gross, this is the largest on highway BEV in New Zealand.

XCMG have retained their number three ranking for construction machinery manufacturers for another year.
XCMG have released the first fully electric telehandler from China.
The robotic battery swap station for New Zealand has been upgraded to include number plate recognition and more tolerance for where the truck stops.
On average this year 660 battery swap trucks a month are going on the road in China. XCMG retains the greatest market share, their new production line can complete 60 heavy battery swapping trucks a day.

His observation of 28l diesel being the equivalent to 98kWh of electricity means the electric energy costs are around 20% of diesel costs.

We have developed a battery swap attachment head in association with Monocrane. It is now up and running on our gantry in Penrose.
The process takes around 5 minutes from the truck pulling up, to driving off again.

Loaders everywhere at Landex this month with our largest shipment so far arriving. Most are pre-sold but some are now available ex stock.
The first one delivered to repeat customer Atlas concrete in Wiri on a better day. The XC948NZ are now up graded to 16,500kg operating weight and a 200hp Cummins QSB engine.
We can now offer the fully electric E400 as a 12t GVM 4×2 cab chassis. This will be our first electric truck with an integrated axle, no transmission or prop shaft. XCMG will use this cabin.

4700 zero emissions heavy trucks have been sold in China so far this year with XCMG being the largest supplier. Quite a big swing away from hydrogen in the domestic market.
XCMG continues to develop their hydrogen trucks and have signed the worlds largest single order for heavy FCEVs to a company supplying hydrogen fuel.

Battery swapping is dominating zero emissions heavy truck sales in China. Of the 2083 heavy electric trucks were sold in January, only 20 did not have battery swap capability.
We are now testing a prototype Monocrane swapping head for our gantry in Penrose. A few modifications to come but pretty good so far.
